Illinois entered into a $214 million dollar contract with Wexford Health Sources, Inc. of Pennsylvania after it donated $10,000 to the campaign of former Governor Rod Blagojevich.
and I'll be *happy* to provide this exact dollar amount so that *anyone* who sees this video can understand how all taxpayers are being raped...robbed...of the money they've worked so hard for in order to give these inmates free health care. When I explained this to him, even my 6yr old nephew responded with, 'that doesn't seem fair.' If he can understand it, then why can't you and the rest of society who allows this?
And, just as an FYI, be grateful that CMS, PHS...and now that they've merged, go by the name of 'Corizon'...aren't the health care company overseeing the IDOC. Wexford has been the IDOC's provider since 1992 and *clearly* they've done a decent enough job for them to have been awarded the contract over and over again for the past 19yrs. Your kid is getting free health care...*despite* the crime he committed. This 'free' health care costs *millions* of taxpayer dollars...
I *also* am bipolar, and am on appropriate meds (like your son, I'm on Lamictal...though on Zoloft too, rather than Clonopin), yet I haven't done anything that has landed me in prison...so that's hardly an excuse. And here's what's *really* disgusting is that prisoners/inmates receive better (and *free*) health care which *we* free-world taxpayers can't get...or pay exhorbitant prices for!
