The Results
Leading researchers across the state and nation gathered at the Winthrop Rockefeller Institute in January 2009 for the first nanotechnology conference sponsored by the Rockefeller Institute. The Nanotechnology for Health Care Conference explored the role of nanomaterials in faster, better drug delivery; in diagnosing and attacking cancer; combating heart disease; and knitting broken bones.

One goal of the conference was to establish an organized team that takes advantage of talent and tools within the state and develop a strategy that would enable the team to compete for a National Institutes of Health (NIH) Center of national significance, thus placing Arkansas at the forefront of nanotechnology research in health care. The Nanotechnology for Health Care Conference was the first of two nanotechnology conferences funded by the Winthrop Rockefeller Institute. The second is scheduled for October 2009. The plan is to develop yearly, self-sustaining nanotechnology research conferences hosted at the Rockefeller Institute.

HEADON:
Global Dialogue on Nanotechnology and the Poor: Opportunities and Risks

Meridian Institute, with support from The Rockefeller Foundation, International Development Research Centre, and UK Department for International Development, has convened the Global Dialogue on Nanotechnology and the Poor: Opportunities and Risks (GNDP). Goals of the GDNP include: raising awareness about the implications of nanotechnology for the poor; closing the gaps within and between sectors of society to catalyze actions that address specific opportunities and risks; and, identifying ways that science and technology can play an appropriate role in the development process.

  • I think maybe you got some duplicates going on.

  • Perhaps the autistic child only perceives a world lacking affection? It's not a matter of whether the parents are succeeding at loving their child, it's a matter of whether the child is perceiving it as love. For example, the tones of a whistle could be a soothing melody to one person, while aggravating to another.

I myself found this lecture uplifting and positive. I imagine the conclusion must explain the importance of having a belief system that can promote positive growth and protection.

  • watched the whole series. I was with him up until the point he started connecting physical science with BELIEF, and now, LOVE and FEAR.

Assumption, imagination and opinion has somewhere replaced a rigorous scientific basis for this arguement.

  • @dtmbcorp Thats because this stuff needs to be repeated to a lot of people....but congratulations to all for getting to Part 9 :)

  • Really great speaker, great lecture! Really enjoyed that! . I suppose you could say this video provided positive environmental stimulus for the cells in my brain.

    John.

  • then negative atmospheres and circumstance lead to mutated birth codes during pregnancy?

  • I love this. Very well explained. And it really all goes back to the old saying. It's really all in your head. lol

    I love it.

  • I think he's on to something and that his basic thrust is an improvement on the current understanding of biology, but I don't think he understands the mechanisms fully and I think there is a good deal of equivocation in how he uses terms.

  • Sorry but this is not based on good science.

It is just a guys opinion backed with very little fact.

and the facts that are put forward are bent to his own emotional agenda.

  • vitrohype would it be possible to send me or add the link to the full lecture?

  • The agenda behind all the "nouniness" of this guy: intelligent design under a new so-called scientific approach. He can keep his stupidity (genes speak), I keep my clear head.

  • Thanks for your support Auslander. This thread is not come to my inbox. Someone asked a question about a comment on the twins study in part one, so started reviewing the series and came across this. I LOL at the notion of being a paid troll.

Your defense of my reason for this post was spot on. Thank you.
