To all those respondents below you might find it useful to read all the facts and not that which fits your point of view then make an informed decision rather than just the rhetoric of others. The carbon tax is not perfect but it is a step in the right direction. I ask the question, what are you doing toward creating a sustainable futures? How are you involved in helping yourself, family and friends secure a future that is better or at least the same as we have now

After this carbon tax, the cummulative expense of extortionate power bills multiplied through the supply chain will make local goods even more expensive.
This tax has the ability to do all harm and no good.

The only thing that makes nuclear energy viable in Australia is a carbon tax.
For that unstable uninsurable nuclear power, every household, business, charity, factory, officeblock etc. will be paying much more for thier essential electricity.
When our power bills double and then triple to subsidise local nuclear industry, everyone will be the losers.
