Not a perfect run, but the best one I could pull off after about an hour of grinding it in Practice Mode.
Utusho is a ridiculously entertaining boss. The stage itself is pretty lame (half of it is nudging to the left or to the right...), but it is definitely worth all the boring pain because nuke-tan just rocks that much. Orin's spell card takes some rhythm, but once you find it, it's almost impossible to mess up (aside for random slips of course).
I used to absolutely hate Utsuho's first spell card, but after a while, I've actually become somewhat consistent with it. In fact, it's actually a blast to play. I really can't explain the second spell card thanks to it's randomness, but all I can say is not to trap yourself in a corner (which actually happens to me in this video). The third spell card is a joke, no more needs to be said about that. As for the fourth card, I usually have an alright time with it. However, in this replay, slightly grazing one of the bullets ends up killing me. I could have sworn that I've gotten closer to those bullets in the past, and yet, still didn't die. This type of bullshit reminds me of Kanako's second spell card.
Her last spell card is really fun, but can also be extremely retarded. I've died a shitload of times right as Utsuho's final bar of HP is depleted all thanks to the crazy ass gravity that ensues. Not to mention, during the card itself, those small bullets can sometimes screw you over by closing a gap that you are about to enter. Either way, it's probably much easier than her second spell card.
As for the noncards, Utsuho's second and fourth patterns can range quite broadly in terms of difficulty. Sometimes, nice gaps form. Other times, gaps look nice but then a stream of bullets rain down right through it from an opposite direction. I probably end up bombing these two noncards more than any of nuclear-loli's spell cards.
Seriously though, this is probably my favorite final boss battle in the entire Touhou series. The whole "CAUTION CAUTION" crap at first seemed pretty silly, and so did the whole idea of nuclear danmaku. But holy hell, it's completely badass. In addition, not only is her theme awesome, but it complements the battle insanely well.
Way better than Extra Stage. Waaaaaay better.
how do you go to the other side of the screen?

Double tab into the side of the screen while not focusing or shooting.

ok thanks and do you know how to change characters while playing?? I hope you know what I mean
MonkeyCrossing2 3 years ago
No, I don't :(
Do you mean your youkai partner? If so, you can't: you can only play as Reimu or Marisa. None of the youkai go underground to help.

I saw a video about tohou (dont know wich one)
and you could switch between 2 characters or something. I geuss its a youkai partner? but how do you do that?
MonkeyCrossing2 3 years ago
-_-
Only exists in Imperishable Night, and it really doesn't change anything aside for scoring. By simply focusing, you switch to your youkai partner. Read more at touhou wiki.
