The best!!!! I could listen to Pletnev all night.

@RealRussiansOnly yes correct that was how i played it

Thank you for your commentary. Actually the legato can be attained by
pivoting around the sustained middle finger of the left hand. There is no
excuse for non-legato in the melodic line. If interested check out
"RR plays Chopin prelude" on google for an example that is self explanatory.
Nevertheless, Pletnev is probably one of the greatest virtuosi of this
generation, except for fudging the prelude.

@RealRussiansOnly Pletnev actually has pretty large hands; but 99% of the human population doesn't have a reach of 13 keys for complete legato. This piece calls for the use of pedal to give the illusion of legato. oh, and Chopin only had a stretch of a 9th.

3 last notes...

@RealRussiansOnly Poor Chopin too.....Take a near look next time when you see the copy of his hand.

@RealRussiansOnly So what?...;-)

Hands to small for composition, incapable of legato left hand.
Chopin himself never called it as "the storm" prelude. In fact Chopin never gave any names on. To be honest I prefer hearing Pletnev on Mozart's piano concertos and sonatas. He is great.
