  • Ratios can be written as either proper or improper fractions. Either way is fine and correct.

    You can simplify a ratio but you will not write a ratio as a mixed number (whole number and fractions). If it is improper, you leave it as an improper fraction.

  • I'm confused. When writing a ratio as a fraction, are we supposed to with the fraction as a proper fraction always? I have seen it written as an improper fraction, and left as improper. Thanks for taking the time to make these videos for us!
