Simple and crude test with an essential working firmware for my GPMC USB.

It is based on a modified version of the "MIDIbox PIC USB" (see http://www.ucapps.de - great site!). I've added native support for up to 32 potentiometers and 128 buttons

  • this is great!!!.....I am also trying to create my own midi controller ....1 button and 1 pot then lol

  • If it works with 1 pot and 1 button, it will also work with more ones! Just place the appropriate MUX/DEMUX and matrix circuits, and you're nearly done! ;-)

I made my first electronics project (the GPMC) with 128 up to buttons and 32 pots this way; the video you've just seen is about remaking it to support MIDI over USB natively.

  • @tron2968 link to the USB PIC Module ucapps.de slash mbhp_usb_pic dot html (remove spaces)

  • Any chance you can post your code? I've built the unit described in USB PIC Module with a PIC18F4550 and am currently using it as a glorified USB to midi converter to interface to a PIC core based on a 18F4620 running MIOS8 and MIDIbox64. It would be great to be able to get rid of the 2nd pic. Does your code support standard applications like MIDIbox64?

  • Do you still have a schematic and/or source file of the firmware I could have a look at? I would like to get someting like this working! I also saw your WizardFX project but my knowledge of the italian language is nil and the project is pretty big to start with...

    Thanks in advance...
