Here is a quick look at the Kenwood KA-660 amplifier being hooked up in my main stereo system. Even though the technical specifications are better than on my Onkyo amplifier, I don't like the way it sounds. So, it'll go again.

  • I like this Amp, Sounds pretty good in my System. btw: are you able to repair a KA 660 that doesnt work properly?

  • @Elnufo

I probably could but only if I actually have it right here in front of me.

  • could also be a wrong match with your speakers.

i would suggest trying some other speakers with that amplifier...maybe not in your main stereo system, buy anyway...

not all amplifiers match properly with all speakers. you have to listen and compare which combinations give the best sound ;-)

I'm sure the amp will sound great with the right kind of speakers. So far I tried one other pair of speakers, but that was absulutely awful... very very tinny sound, and those speakers normally don't sound like that. I think I will try some more speakers as well, maybe I can find a proper pair :)

  • I choose B&O,just can't beat them..

Their vintage equipment is good, their newer equipment not so much.

  • onkyo would probally do great.i have and oknyo pushing my cerwin vegas and it does and excellent job.

  • It just shows to go you that the enjoyment of a sound is far more than the specs.

  • ditch all 3 and get a Sony :))

The Marantz is just as good as the Onkyo (really no difference), but the Onkyo has a tape monitor feature wich the Marantz receiver is missing. So that's why I'm using the Onkyo. Otherwise I would use the Marantz receiver.
