Police fighting protesters in Reykjavik, Iceland - december 31 2008

Today at around 13:30 ,one of the TV news channels hold every year ,on the last day ,a tv brodcast ,live,where they talk about the year with political party chairmens.
But today ,the hotel,wich is located near the parliement building,was attacke by protesters.

TV equipment was destroyed,so the brodacast could not be sent.

Then the protesters tried to get into the hotel,but police stopped them,and later use gas to get them out.

Protesters where angry ,shouting " goverment out " and " fascists "

Some of the TV people got minor injuries .

@TheIcelandicPatriot ;-) you right , but what scares me is how many people dont understand whats the problem. they fight about which party should be in parliament ..or trying going back to socialism/communist for social safety :( blaming on capitalism. when there is no capitalism right now. and the real problems are private banks controlling currency and debt of state and people :/

@abradras Well i have heard some crazy things about the police in the U.S and some other countries but i can assure you we are not alone in this.

But there is one thing corrupted goverments, military and police tend to forget, the people are bigger then they are.

@abradras I do not claim to know alot about the police in other states but here in Iceland the police is the people, they march and protest with os on many ocations. The police and army are supost to protect the people allthough they often stray away from there duties.

@TheIcelandicPatriot i was just thinking ..for one time be civilized on same level as they are :P rules, police and army are set here to protect criminals in governments all over the world. there are no rules for them only for us - slaves. they tough it out very well, they made huge amount of people depended on state money , they will protect them to the last breath :( ..there is not enough free thinking people to storm anything :( at least in slovakia. ^^

@abradras Hey i hear you i would LOVE to rip them apart but we are civilized people sire and rules are rules. We should however storm the senate house and remove them with or without force.
