Tough thing with graphene is actually growing the stuff defect-free. I grow it as an undergrad researcher, and there's still a lot of issues we are ironing out with our setup. Oh, and once you grow it, how do you transfer a thin atomic layer to another surface without tearing? Yup, that's a tough one too. Yes, graphene is strong, but only when it's stretched in horizontal directions. Poking through it takes no effort whatsoever.

Skyscrapers with graphene columns could extend tens of miles into space. Or spacescrapers. You know, use graphene for the space elevator. I wanna see some sizable structures built.
