The movie shows the results of rehabilitating thunderstorm and noise phobias in an adult hurricane Katrina dog that was fostered and trained by Lexi Hayden. Prior to the rehabilitation process the dog had strong phobic reactions even to recordings of thunderstorms. After the rehabilitation process, the dog found a forever home and lives with her loving family. No medication was used in the rehabilitation process - only a very natural approach based on the understanding of the true nature of the canine mind and emotions. The movie was made in 2008 for the purpose of helping to find the dog a forever home and then re-edited in 2010 to show the results of Lexi Hayden's work. At the time of rehabilitation the dog was 5 years old.

  • So the answer is to have a bigger stronger dog sit with the dog with the phobia?

  • @octoberfire13 No, not necessarily a bigger and stronger dog. However, being around a calmer dog might be helpful. It was helpful in this case, but every dog is an individual. Another thing is that this in not a "how-to" video and it only shows the results of our work. The presence of a calm dog was only a part of the rehabilitation work.

  • @Tumlock I'm sorry to hear that Ladybird experiences this...The dog that you see in the movie was about 5 years old when I started working with her. There's always something that you can do to help. We are in Florida and I'd be happy to help if you're local (please go to my website)

If you're not in Florida, I highly recommend finding a great professional. The International Association of Canine Professionals is the organization that I recommend: canineprofessionals. com
