I've put together this video to go with this, one of the greatest records ever released. As it wasn't on youtube I thought I'd upload it for all who are searching for it or for those just passing by. The late Pete de Freitas (Echo and the Bunnymen's drummer) produced this and recorded it in mono. He was also the drummer on this record and funded its recording.
This is taken from the original 12" vinyl.

Update.
A bizarre coincidence. I've just noticed that the date I uploaded this, turns out it was the 20th anniversary of Pete de Freitas' death. Cue Twilight Zone theme.

  • Pure Class.I've got the 12'' Single.Thanks for uploading

  • @THEDRUID cheers

  • Bought it when it came out still have the 12 inch a classic masterpiece and should not be forgotten thanks for putting it on You Tube

  • @jonflynn1 Thanks. Welcome to the club of those who bought this masterpiece.

  • You know, we're coming up on THIRTY (30!) years since the release of this gem and it still sounds as powerful and fresh and inspiring as the day it was released - unbelievable!!

StanPomeray, as much as I would have loved to have had a nice DDD recording of this, somehow the "ambiance" of the dining hall adds just the right amount of mystery. Similar to the feeling you get when you hear a rare vintage 78 coming out of the past and into the present - a fragile treasure for jaded ears...

  • @fractaljack yep too right, the spirit of this song was captured correctly at the time and it wouldn't have sounded better done any way else. 30 years....yikes ! Only seems like yesterday.

  • There is something magic about this record, a hidden gem

  • I'm having a gloriously self indulgent 80s indie nostalgia day, enjoying forgotten gems like this!

  • This song sounds best when played at full volume

  • this song def. was taken by queens of the stone age little sister

  • Dedicate this to a friend who loved this song but didn't live 10 years past its creation

    RIP DD
