Way to go guys! I can't wait for the details to be published or sold. Sure wish I had the time to do this one myself. My motion deck is taking enough time as it is ;-)

You guys are the pioneers of a new homecockpit era !!! Didn't I say something like that in another post of one of your videos?....well doesn't matter can't say it often enough! Such an amazing project. Keep the videos coming. Are you building for yourself or is it to prepare for an eventual commercialization. I bet there is a big market for low budget mirror collimation screens-because there are none ! Should you ever start selling these things...keep me informed please :)

@f15sim- sorry for being vague, I meant the interface on the rear panels. :)

My weekend was definitely not as cool as yours! Thanks for sharing the progress!
Ahh, ok. The framework is made up of three separate segments that are gasketed & bolted together. Having one continuous back panel wouldn't be practical - especially since finding a 16 foot long sheet of 1/8" hard board would be slightly difficult. :)

If I may suggest, add a piece to cover the seam as well. Keeping it pressed with an overlapping piece will help prevent stress fractures on our around the screws holding that seam together:)

@jbevren, there IS no seam. It's one continuous sheet of mylar.

This looks amazing! I know nothing about this technology and I haven't seen all your videos so I'm a bit confused about how you project on to a mirror - won't the light from the projector just be reflected off the mirror on to the surrounding walls in the cockpit? Or is that the idea? Thanks.

@ForViewingOnly, if you check out the "full flight simulator" article over on Wikipedia, (the collimated display section) it'll give you a much better description than I can. :)
