how did you control forward and reverse gears? gearbox from flywheel to prop shaft?

No, just by controlling the reversing/speed valve with a servo.

Yes it does and it's only 56 cm long.

I want to congratulate you with this very nice tugboat. I'm surprised about the length of only 56 cm. The boat I'm building is 98 cm and I have to be very careful with weight. Lots of success in the future.
