@imluvinyourmum According to HighstakesDB, durrrr played an average of 70 hours a week between 2007 and 2010. And that is just from when they started tracking hands, durrrr started in 2004 and played God only knows how many hours between then and 2007. I agree he has a natural gift but that doesn't mean he didn't still have to work his ass off. You were right the first time, it takes a TON of work to reach the top these days.

This is fairy outdated, in this day and age of poker i think u have to take a big risk if u want to be the best, in the old days u could come along at 30, play a few years seriously and find urself at the top.
These days with all the young grinders u are going to have to start young and play a whole lot more hours to find urself amongst Ivey, Brunson and Negreanu's level of play in their respective favored formats. Durr of course is the exeption, he just has a natural gift i suppose.

Ivey and durrrr will go down as the best payers but the best players are casino executives

Iveys one of the best if not the best pure poker player around today, but I'm not really sure if he will ever win a WSOP ME, theres just too much variance in a field of grazing donkeys to allow pure skill to point to who wins. I'd say he'll see a few more final tables at the ME, but when you get there you're basically racing for pots because of the blinds. I don't even really focus on the WSOP because of it. Its great to say you won a WSOP, but not so much these days cuz of the luck factor.
