Town Hall Meeting On DHS Checkpoints (5 of 14)

On September 2, 2009 Congresswoman Giffords organized a community meeting in Green Valley, Arizona to discuss the recent findings of a GAO study regarding interior Border Patrol checkpoints.

Checkpoint USA was on hand to record the meeting and is now making it available to the general public. This is part 5 which finishes up the presentation on the GAO report by Richard Stana followed by Tucson sector Chief Border Patrol Agent Gilbert.

that happens in the US. It's called asset forfeiture. They claim that your car, house, or money was "suspected," of being used in the "crime," of drug distribution. So they take the property to court. Not you. Then the burden is on you to prove that your property is innocent.

I heard that in checkpoints in some 3rd world countries, the government agents at those checkpoints plant narcotics on those passing through the checkpoints and then their vehicles are seized and later sold at auctions.
