There is a lack of pure sounds. You are all fighting for the same space. There is too much of a mishmash of distortion. Result = noise

Does anyone know what program Ian Williams is using in his laptop?

Native Instruments stuff: B4, Elektrik Piano... Most of the sounds are overdriven through (I guess) regular guitar overdrive/amplifier, to make it sound like a guitar. By doing so the all sounds are "melting" together and you can't tell who is playing what, or which instrument is playing what
