The heads of two South Korean delegations met North Korean leader Kim Jong-Un during a visit to Pyongyang to pay
respects to his late father Kim Jong-Il, Seoul's unification ministry said.

A spokesman said on Monday that Lee Hee-Ho, widow of late South Korean president Kim Dae-Jung, and Hyundai Group chairwoman Hyun Jung-Eun paid respects to the late leader at the Kumsusan Memorial Palace and expressed condolences to Jong-un.

Al Jazeera's Harry Fawcett reports from the South Korean border.

  • I remain optimistic for Kim Jong Un to change the Hermit Kingdom to work with its southern counterpart and hope that when we look back at the peaceful cooperation of the Korean peninsula, this was the day that they took the first step

  • Condolences to a man who ran a totalitarian regime worse than Hitler's? I would send my congratulations that he is dead.

  • @Kleeeenex1 Yeah, I'm really ashamed of that since I'm American. ):

  • @beccaotaku that was 50 years ago, led by kim il sung , not kim jong il , he was not born at the time, this very much reminds me of the taeguki , both red and blue, but we are still one, hopefully we will reunite and become a powerful nuclear state & capitalized state , and most importantly democratic , hopefully south wont need to depend on usa , although americans would never want to leave south korea. because of its strategic location. so south korea remains usa puppet

  • @mathematics64 i think hitler was worse. if you were a gay or disabled you were dead.

  • Long live the Wise Leader Kim Jong-un, the lodestar of the 21st Century and the guiding light of the world progressive movement.
