On Inauguration Day, all eyes were President Noynoy Aquino, Vice President Binay, and the numerous celebrities and public figures that showed up to witness the oath-taking at Quirino Grandstand.
But there were also tens of thousands of ordinary Filipinos who trooped to Luneta Park that rainy Wednesday morning to witness history. Our lenses also focused on them.
Hailing from different parts of the country and from many walks of life, they shared a common hope - that the swearing-in of a new president would also mark the beginning of a new era in Philippine politics, and perhaps, real changes in their own lives.
These are the faces of hope and jubilation, a few of their voices, and a song by a man who brought his guitar.
