App is released! http://itunes.apple.com/app/futulele/... FUTULELE is an Ukulele synthesizer for iOS. Although it can work on a single iPad, similar to our well-known guitar synth OMGuitar (http://amidio.com/omguitar), Futulele really shines with a special guitar-shaped case that holds both an iPad and an iPhone, which are connected to each other via Bluetooth. iPhone is used to define the chords and iPad is used for strumming.
We have managed to reduce the chord switch lag to a minimum level and capture every little nuance of a high-grade professional Ukulele instrument. You can use up to 12 chords for each song, and change chord sets on the fly. Full recording and sharing possibilities come straight from OMGuitar, as well as the effects section.
We are currently looking for manufacturers who are willing to produce Futulele cases, preferrably with embedded speakers. Please contact us if you have any ideas! www.amidio.com

Why don't you just buy a ukulele?

you do realize your argument contradicts yourself right?
obviously no one forced you to pay for this.
it is a CHOICE.
you have a ukulele? GOOD FOR YOU!
let me repeat again just for your sake,
there ARE ALREADY people who OWN both ipad AND iphone.
they get to CHOOSE if they wanna have FUN.
just like not everyone owns a ukulele, and the app is still cheaper than a ukulele.
i play guitar, piano& drums myself, i still buy music apps for FUN.
it's for ENTERTAINMENT, obviously not professional uses

1. Some people already own both of these. And a ukulele as well, for that matter.
2. This is an incredibly cool concept, and supporting it can only bring future, better musical apps.
3. most people are going to bring both of these items on a trip regardless, and this app means you can practice anywhere on the go without carrying around a ukulele like a jackass
4. just because your broke ass can't afford an ipad and iphone doesn't mean you have to be so bitter.

A cute woman playing a Uke is major sexy btw...
.
As for the app... i would suggest picking up a real instrument. You can buy a Ukulele for as low as $10.
.
That being said, I will thumbs up anyway for the epic ukulele hula girl :)

Several commenters seem to think anyone would buy an Ipad and an Iphone *only* to use this app. Really clever guys...
