  • are you from around here

  • @CTFDCadet No, I live in Ohio.

  • Love the videos! I am working toward a FPV setup on my hawk sky. I was wondering how much your total set up weighs?

  • Oh and can you tell me what software you use to edit the gopro vids? I can't find any cheap way to edit GOPro footage. thanks

  • @mackgoodman I use several older pieces of software. To split files (cut out pre-flight and post-flight) I use Boilsoft Video Splitter. To join files without re-encoding, Boilsoft Video Joiner. Any filters/resizing/overlays needed are done in the freeware VirtualDub. Overlays are made in .bmp format with Photoshop or anything similar. Final compression is done with freeware AutoGK. Boilsoft can be had on any warez forum. The rest are free.

  • @mackgoodman Oh, and to use VirtualDub with GoPro files, you may also need to install Quicktime. I don't know if the free version of Quicktime is enough, but Pro is also available on warez forums. You don't need to use Quicktime, it just needs to be installed on the computer.

  • @mackgoodman I believe my total AUW is 837g, ready to takeoff. I can still cruise at half throttle with straight and level flight, but the plane is touchy as it's so heavy. Banking requires a lot more input than normal, too. I just installed a GPS/OSD unit that added maybe 50g and I'd say that was the max. Lots of up elevator and long ROG. Plane is MUCH less floaty than normal.

  • @theleetbeagle mine is weighing 935 grams so its a heck of a time getting launched.. I was using the gopro with enclosure though. I guess I'll have to toss that idea when I add more weight of Vtx.. Amazing though , with stock motor I was able to get her airborne, just barely. Thanks for the video editing info
