I was reccommended this movie and this trailer made it look potentially terrible. I will have to check the reviews on RT cause this trailer made it look like a stupid hollywood commercial piece of poorly acted garbage.

This is one of my favorite movies and one of Cruise's best performances. The movie is really about honor, loyalty, courage and the way a life can be transformed. The last samurai of the title throughout the film is really Ken Watanabe, and he is brilliant by the way. I suppose at the end you could say it is the Cruise character since, well, I won't give it away. Beautifully shot. Great scenes and fights. The romantic scenes are delicate and lovely. Throw in some deadly ninjas - perfection.
