Superb performance. Great music, bit cheesy but entertaining. This is my 2nd favourite programme of his after Europeans 89 where he was faultless. What's the title of his opening tune here?

Sasha won this World Championships by a mile and we all thought he would go on to win 1988 Olympics, but after this he never really skated his best again, except for '87 and '89 Europeans. Sadly, he never won an Olympic medal. He was one of my favourite skaters, but as Scott Hamilton always said, his programmes were always far too difficult and intricate.

Alexander Fadeev what an excellent technical skater although his artistry is so-so. This was when the Soviet Union backed up there skaters by sending to training camps to be the very best skater.
