This is a tutorial for a nifty drum machine program called "DrumSite".

Tips and Tricks:

By going to "Edit - Insert Tempo", you can change the BPM (Beats per Minute) of the drum track.

In the View menu, you can change how many beats (or "ticks"), there are in a measure.

Within the available samples, there are many "subsamples" you can see by clicking on the sample, calling for diversity in your tracks.

Use the available zoom tool to accurately see each tick if there are many in a measure (32, 64, etc.)

If you make a mistake, you can use the available undo and redo functions to backtrack

You can use the Pattern Manager (Tools - Pattern Manager, or when you open Drumsite) to find some example drum patterns to help you craft your drum track.

You can use the Drumset Editor (Tools - Drumset Editor) to edit how drum samples sound, so you can make entirely new drumsets if you desire.

You can use a Rock Band drum kit with a program called "XPadder" (YT search it), and map out a proper control scheme (some of the keys are hotkeys that sound out a drum sample when DS is the active window), so you can use your kit with DS.

Drumsite version 1.7 also doubles as a bass guitar machine! An excellent plus to the "one-man-band".

Read the help file

For demo users, if Stereo Mix is not available on your computer, even after enabling "Show Disabled Devices", try searching the web for a way to record from the speakers.

  • is there a way to play from a certian part instead of playing from the begining? Its hard to fix a part thats a minute in when i have to play from the beginning every time

  • @KraWk4 Right-click on the measure you want to play from, then select "Play from Bar".

  • @KByrneOnline

That's alright. I use a cracked version of DS 1.4 now. I like the drumset on there better.

  • I have this program. When I loop for a while, or play a long beat I created... the track starts to stutter and stop. I can't ever play a whole song because it stutters and stops half way through. Any ideas?

  • What are your system specs?

  • Oh cool man thanks for posting.

  • No problem. Spread the word about this vid. I want a lot more people in the YouTube community to know about this excellent software.

  • Err..Hi, I've got a question. I downloaded some samples and wanted to edit my drumkit in drumsite with these, but I have no idea how to do that.. I've got the full version but I dont know if this is even possible.. Thanks for any help

  • got it, you can't choose folders where to copy to but you can write the path yourself ... that's how you select the folder you want to copy to.

  • @KByrneOnline I can't choose the path where to copy the wav.file. Hmmm ... there must be a way, right?

  • What if I'm going to change my tempo? where would I find it? :}
