A CBS Story on Sweet Beginnings, LLC, a social enterprise that offers transitional jobs for formerly incarcerated men and women and others with significant barriers to employment. Sweet Beginnings is a limited liability corporation and a wholly-owned subsidiary of the North Lawndale Employment Network. Sweet Beginnings is guided by a triple bottom line mission. Our social mission is to provide people facing significant barriers to employment primarily those with histories of criminal convictions with viable opportunities to establish a work history, learn productive work habits, and become productive members of society. Our economic mission is to contribute to the economic revitalization of the North Lawndale neighborhood through a social enterprise that is sustainable for the long-term and generates jobs.
