Obama has advocated raising taxes on everyone. First he is going to let the Bush tax cuts expire. Second, he is pushing both healthcare "reform" and Cap and Tax, er Trade. Both of which will result in the higher taxes in those industries being passed along to consumers, especially to the poor which Obama claimed to have been their champion.

The bailouts of both the financial sector and the auto industry were nothing but a means for Obama to get leverage over those industries.
