Johnson outboard motor 30 hp 1988 running

Johnson 30 hp 1988 running 8/21/2010. This is the first lake test since I replaced the head gasket, thermostat, head cover gasket, water pump and ignition coil. It's pushing my 16' Crestliner utility boat. It's fairly heavy for an aluminum boat ~450#, plus gear. Also, I'm a big guy as well about 280#. I'm pleased with it's performance. She tops out at 28 mph per GPS.

Look and sounds good, that what I`m looking for to put on my boat, or a 35hp, the old 25 just dont push her the way it should. Good job.

Hey that grate glad you had a good time, if your fishing catch one for me. I`m still looking for a 30 or 35 hp but they are hard to find and also had to put everything on hold. These fires are sometimes are coming close to the house but it will rain soon I hope. Enjoy the water and every now and then through a cup my way, I`ll put it on the fire. safe boating out there.

Wow, good job. The motor sound super tight.No lack of power there. I'm rebuilding my first 30hp Johnson as we speak, hope the results are the same.
