Part 1: Sissy Farenthold
Sissy Farenthold was the first speaker at The Execution of David Lee Powell Press Conference, held at the Texas State Capitol in Austin, Texas on Wednesday, June 9, 2010. Farenthold served as a member of the Texas House of Representatives from 1968 through 1972. She has also been a close friend of David's for over twenty years.
The speakers at Powell's Press Conference were Sissy Farenthold, Jude Filler, David's uncle Clemens Struve, MD, Criminal Defense Attorney Walter Long and David's attorney Richard Burr.
My camera cut out halfway through Walter Long's powerful presentation and consequently I was unable to obtain video of Richard Burr's outstanding presentation of David Powell's clemency application which was recently submitted to the Texas Board of Pardons and Paroles.

people should abolish mandatory life sentences because many can be very productive and it is cruel to make it that the person will never leave prison.
