How do you know when students trust their teacher? When they hand-over ten pounds to be burned in front of the class!

Zoe Bidmead, a Teaching Award winner from North Kesteven School in Lincoln, clearly has that trust, as she demonstrates how soaking a ten pound note in a mixture of water and ethanol burns the ethanol, but leaves the money untouched.

  • I had Zoe Bidmead as a teacher in school, she is a terrible teacher, she knows nothing about Biology and often found herself embarassed when asked questions by the class as she had to look it up in a text book. Maybe if she had done a proper Biology degree she may have achieved more alongside the scienific community.

  • You should not be wearing a scarf that dangles while using a Bunsen!

  • Not wishing to criticise the government or anything, but I agree with DanielLobster - the first thing I noticed about this video is the teacher is wearing a scarf which is VERY unsafe around a bunsen burner!

  • That experiment was neither introduced nor filmed well (we couldn't see *what* was happening to the note).

  • can i have the ten pounds? i wont be trying to burn it!!1

  • it's a classic!
