So then I, who prefer this original version before Jose Gonzale's, but still really likes his touch at the song, just like it because I think it's drenched in profound emotion because it's acoustic? It makes no sense at all. This whole Jose VS The knife fight that's going on is just as ignorant and stupid as the Johnny Cash vs NIN fight over the song "Hurt". It takes a real couple of fools to ignore the fact that both the covers are great, even though the originals are still better.

  • 137 people dont have a heartbeat :)

  • sorry for being so late.

  • i liked the knife-heartbeats

  • @nbmatt

That's incredibly narrow minded. You hate on the guy who honors the song by covering it, aiming far more attention to the original than if he would not, instead of the ignorant fools out there who don't mind checking up the original song? Hating on people who likes another genre is a pretty much stupid thing to do alone. You resemble a major part of what's wrong with all the wannabe "True music lovers" out there.

  • It took me almost a year to find this damn song.... I had no idea who it was by. Only knew one line... lean on me. Lol

  • @nbmatt It`s just that in this day and age people think if something is quiet and acoustic it is automatically drenched in profound emotion when really it is not.

  • @ShaneyQua I can't speak for anyone else that dislikes his version, but the reason I don't like it is because he seemed to miss the "point" of the song. The way he sings is too sad when the it should be uplifting. I'm very aware that this is a matter of personal preference and opinion, so I don't want it to seem like I don't respect him as an artist. I guess it all just boils down to what arguments about music usually always boil down to -- common people like common music.

  • @louiscfc93 Yeah, his original material is pretty awful. Nothing he does is very unique.
