PULICAT LAKE

Pulicat Lake is a brackish water lake located near Chennai. Major portion of the lake lies in Andhrapradesh. Besides having rich fauna comprising a variety of fishes, crabs, prawns this lake also host a variety of flora. Algologists visit this lake for collecting marine algae. A field station of Madras Christian College is also present there. People from Madras Christian College and the care taker at field station, Pulicat lake can be contacted for any help for academic and research activities. A boat with a capacity of 25 people will cost Rs.500/- as hiring charges for about an hour or two. This video presents a birds view of the lake and will be useful for any algologist interested in visiting the lake.
