Poor lad! Ludwig and his brother, Otto, had such a traumatic, shitty start in life - no wonder their respective mental states collapsed! If they were nurtured and encouraged properly - Oh! Ludwig II would be remembered as one of the greatest European kings and not a traumatised basket case!
Ludwig II was uber intelligent - just look at the castles he built and the music he patronised! What a legacy he's left to the world! God Bless!

A tragic story of a man who should never have been burdened with ruling. He finally committed suicide rather than suffer the dehumanization of being locked up as a harmless, chronic lunatic. His being gay, in a time and place when being so could be very dangerous, only added to his peculiar, desocialized behavior.
