In 2006 an 82 year old woman in Benzin, Poland, revealed a secret she had kept from the world for 61year: she possessed a notebook written by
her friend Rutka Laskier, a 14 year old Jewish girl, in the months before she perished in the gas chambers of Auschwitz.

Written over a period of four months early in 1943, the dairy provides a striking new perspective on the daily life of Jews trapped in the nightmare of the Holocaust.

Is there a new translation of word Germany.

To try to answer: the anti-semitism was institutionalised from the govt. leader right on down. Children imbided this hatred with their mothers milk. Society encouraged this behavoir.

Thus the jews were marginalised until they had all their wealth stolen and then worked to death or killed ASAP when they'd become a burden.

The Nazis created a period that allowed the darker side of man to appear and flourish.

But extraction of wealth was behind a lot of it. They made sure jews died poor.

I'm an artist and mother nature have give me a lot imagination..but when i hear storys as this, i'm speechless and can't imagine what force, what magic must work on people that they loose every sence for humanity. This is beyond evil.

Your question is a very good one...but can anyone ever give a reasonable, rational answer for such inhuman behavior? We have heard all the stock answers; vegence for WWI and Versaille, nationalism run amock, fear of Communism, racism, unwillingness to question authority or orders, etc, all enabled this behavior among Germans.

My belief is that there will never be an adequate explanation for why people behaved this way. I think this possibly makes it even more tragic.

this young girl was murdered by a people who thought of themselves as civilised and highly cultured. the murderers were not hitler and his henchmen. the murderers were postmen, teachers, and labourers, just like you and me. it is no good saying that these men were animals and monsters. to dehumanise the criminal excuses the crime.can the german peoples explain what happened to thier ancestors to make them carry out these depraved act? i listen, but i hear no answer to my question,
