BAWIB attempts to use Sgt. Hookfin to Harass SFV4I 1

On March 22nd, Bay Area Women In Black called the Oakland Police Department to harass San Francisco Voice for Israel. They have done this several times in the past. What was the excuse this time? 4 people were standing on the median island of Grand Ave. opposing BAWIB.

Since the video was posted, the OPD had more first hand experience with the "grandmas and aunties" where they could see first hand how malignant they are.

The issues around this event were resolved satisfactorily and in our favor through proper negotiation with the correct elements higher up in the OPD along with the Security Director for the Jewish Community and the Jewish liason to the OPD.

This video was not posted to cast any specific aspersion on Sgt. Hookfin or his conduct.

This video was not posted to say anything about Sgt. Hookfin. He was doing his job, other than being ignorant of the 6 calls between the last time Women In Black called him and the time of this filming.

This film was posted specifically so that the higher-ups at Oakland Police Dept. could see the substance of the discussion, with no intermediary.

As was explained to me, when "grandma or auntie" calls the police complaining of meanies picking on her, their instinct is to take their side.

Ya know, it kinda looks and sounds to me that the cop is being very patient. The guy holding the camera is giving the cop a pretty hard time and being unreasonable. He is being a bad representation for his cause. If the cop acted the same way he would file a complaint against him. We should all hold ourselves to a level of conduct and not be like the guy giving the cop a hard time. He is just an embarassment.

Please think how you would react if the police were repeatedly called to harrass you to violate your civil rights.

The police are pawns in this game. While many know about the tactics of Women in Black and that they are being used, Sgt. Hookfin was seemingly unaware. In fact, of all the police that BAWIB have called on us in the past year, it seems ONLY Sgt. Hookfin was unaware he was being used.

OTOH, I spoke to a former tactical negotiator about this and he says this is quite typical.

I was there - and yes, Sargent Hookfin was incredibly patient. Women in Blacks' shameless attempt to manipulate him proved fruitless.

Oakland California is a location with very real crime- and for Win B to waste an officers time because they didn't want to stand across from Zionists was disgraceful.

Using the local police as a tool of harrassment is unacceptable- we all know this and Sgt Hookfin did as well, yet he remained as reasonable as he could be under the circumstances.
