This is an incredible story. I cannot even begin to imagine what horrible and terrifying things you must have gone through. Words cannot explain how this makes me feel.

Thank you so much. He's in his 50s now, so much older than you were and he hasn't been a superhealthy one either. The doctors say that the brain damage is irreversible and therapy would be torturing with little to no prospect. They took him of the breathing machine and he gets morphine which I guess means that the whole thing is beyond the stage of therapy. Then again I see these videos where people say that even in an adult damaged brain, new connections can be made. It's all so confusing.

We all have different ways of experiencing life and even death. I think starvation and such are brought about by the hand of man. I've only shared my story as I see it. Be well and endure.

A friend had a stroke and now sufferes from locked-in syndrome... the doctors have given him up already, saying that there is too much brain damage to make him ever come back. He gets a lot of painkillers and other stuff to keep him from panicing and being afraid - I wish I could find a therapy or something but it's kinda me against science. :(

This was my nightmare, and hoenstly, I'll pray for your friend. Thankfully my family would have absolutely NO ONE give up on me, and if that meant kicking a doctor off my case, that was the verdict. I'm curious how old your friend is, and whata damage they say there is. Before assuming one has "too much" brain damage they should be able to name exactly what it is. You are not the one that could change this. I am sorry this is a part of your reality. It's devastating.
