Another under hood look at the HKS Super SQV on my '05 STi. This time I swapped out the valve piece to the purple, low frequency insert which produces a much deeper blow off sound. Check out my other vids to see the high frequency insert and this blow off valve recirculated to return the air.

  • @ae86det It is definitely a deeper sound during blow off but I found that when my turbo had more than 7psi of boost in it and the blow off valve went off it would produce a whole new high pitched chirp that was almost more annoying than the triple fin. So basically if you don't run more than 7psi with this insert, it will sound great. If you're hitting more than 7psi, it's going to sound like trash. That's my experience anyways.

  • so does not make the high pitch chirp like triple fin ? cant the triple fin on full boost

  • @Yoda8232 Appreciate the comment. The engine and turbo were prepped for the video as the car had been driven and warmed up prior to being pulled into the garage and filming the video. Only con to having the low frequency insert is that anywhere from 7psi to 18psi blow off makes a chirp comparable if not worse than the high frequency insert.

  • Just saying, you probably should let your car warm up but especially cool down revving like that with the turbo. Low frequency sounds great!
