@bellminsterboy Well, try ringing up the 20cwt Tenor at Bishopstone single handed... Its tough, but better than having somebody "helping you double-clapper it by moving UP the Tail End (towards the Sally) when you asked him to move DOWN the rope (eg towards the TAIL END!!) and, to cap it all, he then tried to bounce me off the edge of a balcony, which didnt have a bannister , AND i got it up quicker ON MY OWN, after a SEVEN MILE CYCLE!! Now, that would have been wworth watching... Scary though!!

The Clapper is faster then the Bell. Thats why it falls.

When the person swung that bell higher until it rang full circle, he did not ensure that the clapper was flying to strike the bell instead of dropping onto it. Naughty.
