  • Can I use some basic sharp needle for needle felting, or i need some other kind of a needle? :)

  • @mischa11051981 You need barbed felting needles - the barbs catch the wool and tangle it into felt - I explain how it works on my website - seem my profile for the link

  • Sorry if this is a stupid question, but what is the technical name of the felt you used in the video? If I were to go to a crafts store to buy one, what should I ask for? What is the name of the needled you used? Thanks in advance =D

  • Not stupid at all!! I am using Norwegian C1 Felting Batts. You won't likely find it in your craft stores. You may find Merino or Corriedale Roving - But I explain different types of wool and needles on my website - see my profile - I can't seem to post a link here.

  • I love needle felting too but you are so much more talented than me, I just do little animals and such. I will later take on the big task at felting people. Awesome and creative work! Thanks too for the tip too about keeping the torso a soft core, makes a lot sense to me now :-D

  • Thanks so much! I've been at it about two years now but I haven't done many animals - I just jumped right in to making people.

  • Thank you for posting this video :) :) :)!!

  • can you do this with a double needle and no felt pad?

i'm on a super tight budget is why i'm asking.

do you have to use a double needle, will a singe work ok??

  • It's a potato!

  • thanks a lot for the tutorial! Its a great help!

I did have a question though. How do you solve the problem of the wool getting fluffy? I can poke the wool as much as I want but I'll still have threads sticking out. Makes me want to kill it and shout BE SMOOTH. Any ideas on this? xP

  • Thank you, this is very well explained and easy to follow :D
