This was me in Bratislava, Slovakia. This was the first time I'd ever driven on the "foreign" side of the road and it was probably the most stressful thing I've ever done!
I'm used to driving right hand drive cars and I'm not a bad driver (I actually have a Bus Licence in New Zealand) but driving on the other side of the road was intense.

If you thought I was being a big girl then please try driving on the other side of what you're used to, reverse all the road rules, and drive with really short-tempered motorists! You'll see what I mean.

If you make a mistake on Slovak roads the motorists let you know about it! The speed limits there seem to be suggestions rather than laws. And apparently the (armed!) police take bribes!
Man I needed a strong drink after each day of driving.

  • This is hilarious. Its exactly what I think would happen to me if I tried to drive on your side of the road.

  • @trikdoutcobalt

they have pistols and a bushmaster rifle in the car. If they feel the need for a weapn then they are aloud to take it out.

  • new zealand cops dont carry guns? I thought all cops did(I'm Canadian). Kinda defeats the purpose of what the police do. Id be scared if somebody was trying to shoot me so I call the cops and they show up with just a baton...

  • You did rather well. I could see myself trying to drive with steering wheel on the right. Luckily there are old postal jeeps to try it out in.

  • wat stellt der sich denn an? ik mach dit den janzen tach aufa linken seite sitzen^^

  • i got my driver license for 2 weeks and i drive left hand cars, but it would be very very difficult to drive a right hand car, i would not know how to hot up the car's engine oO it would be funny :D

  • I will be over there in a few weeks and am thinking of doing some driving. Was your car auto or manual?

  • lol awesome dude

  • Been there, done that, know what it's like mate.

    Skoda's - good cars !

  • Quite courageous for a "Kiwi" to drive Bratislava's races.

Sure it's not for everybody. Hats off for that:)
