@SaganNotPagan -cont- school kids, but to suggest that there is no rational and or scientific defense that can be made of the Bible is foolhardy at best. I see no evidence against the Bible at all, and I have thoroughly reviews most of it. There is a geneticist named Fazale Rana that wrote a very in depth and convincing book giving intelligent and thoroughly accurate evidence of creation from a scientific standpoint. A perfect genetic parent could reproduce with it's offspring indefinitely

@SaganNotPagan Adam and Eve were perfect genetic "prototypes" if you will, with no genetic flaws or diseases that could be passed to the next generation. It was not until the destructive results of sin became fully evident that men began to live a shorter lifespan. People who automatically dismiss any possibility of a divine origin of life or God would overlook these things, thinking them to be excuses, much like most of the "science" that they try to shove down the throats of unsuspecting-cont

@godluvsmormons And for the record, light is radiation. You should be very careful before saying things like "scientists theorize that there was a protective layer" because, apart from the fact that the statement is just plain wrong, you have chosen to wilfully ignore ALL the worlds leading scientists in holding your beliefs. And as I have said before, there is no purpose in the world, I would suggest you look up the anthropic principle, the entire universe does not exist just for you and me.

@godluvsmormons the average lifespan of humans has only ever increased with the progression of time, there is nothing to note regarding "Adam's time" as Adam clearly never existed. For the human race to have descended from your biblical pair there would have had to have been a colossal amount of inbreeding. As you clearly believe in the literal interpretation of the creation story (which no intellectually credible theologians do) how do you cope with the huge weight of evidence against you?

@SaganNotPagan to filter through, and that made all inhabitants of the earth healthy and free of mutation and defect. Sin changed a LOT, not just man's standing before God, but it destroyed paradise, and ushered in an era of depletion of resources, floods, earthquakes and droughts that will eventually culminate in the destruction of this world, and the making of a new earth on which all of God's people will live as they once did in Eden. Note the decrease of age limit from Adam's day to now....

@SaganNotPagan cont- affect the human race, but the world and indeed quite possibly the universe in turn. Before man sinned, there was no disease, not in humans or in the animal kingdom. Before the fall, there was a perfect balance in nature, there was no rain, because the water needed to nourish the plants came from underground. Many Christians who are scientists theorize that there was a protective layer between the sky and the ground that allowed only good light, and not radiation to -cont

@SaganNotPagan No, I am not suggesting that God is flawed, but some things to consider before you talk about God as a "fabricated" being. 1. The overwhelming evidence in the order and purpose of the world and the universe is that it was not a random, senseless act, but done deliberately and intelligently 2. Order NEVER comes from chaos, never. 3. If you read and meditate on the scriptures, you will begin to understand that the changes that happened because of man's sin did not just affect-cont

@godluvsmormons I have seen the complexity of the world, and I can't help but notice the many faults. There are for instance numerous examples of over engineering in the animal kingdom (the laryngeal nerve of a giraffe is a popular one) or the imperfections in the human eye that require our brain to flip the light before building an image. Are you suggesting that your designer is incompetent? I will not fabricate a suspiciously humanoid god to answer questions that I cannot.

it takes faith for a person who has seen the order, complexity, and obvious intelligence in the "natural world" up close and first hand to dismiss the possibility of God. The word "atheism" means "without a teaching of God" so it does therefore take faith to be an atheist, if indeed the atheist is informed about the world and universe. An atheist who simply rejects God based on emotions or misinformed questions that are left unanswered like "why do bad things happen?" are just confused

atlasshrugged, you are blind to reason, it takes NO faith to be an athiest, we seek to understand the world in a way that is satisfying to our constantly evolving brain. You are happy to be blind to detail. And for the record, YOU ignore millions of people who believe in different gods.
