Aiptek DV3500 mod.

The Aiptek digital camcorder using a Canon objective.
The camera have now a 15x optical zoom, que combine with the original 4x digital zoom, join in a total zoom of 60x.
With faster lens, the small camera now shots in darker environments.

A similar mod can be made by using objectives of 33 mm film's cameras.

This is so great! I want to do this with my Aiptek AHD H5 Extreme. Can your confirm or deny that I can do that with few worries?

Also, considering the structure of the H5 Extreme, I dont think I'll be able to use a 35mm prime lens, so I need to use a TV lens like this, if it is in fact more narrow.

Assuming that this lens is made for probably 16mm cameras, could I make it capture about the same amount of space as a 35mm lens by putting a wide angle lens on the end of it?

@JThoerning Hi! That depends sole on the size of the sensor. One way to figure it out it's to look on the original lens. The lens you can put on must be on the same focal length of the original (or pretty close). If the focal distance of the lens is longer then the original, you will have a telephoto effect. If it's shorter, you will have a wider angle or, in some cases, vignage. In that case, the image will not iluminate the entire sensor.

Hi Fishycomics! The wider the lens, the lower the F ration. The lower the F ration, more sensitive to low light the camera will be. That's because the wider the lens, more light it will gather. But be carefull about the focal distance. Longer focal distances will result in a zoom effect. Single lens will result in cromatic aberrations, like false colors and rainbow effects. Optics can be very trick. By the way, I like very much your Aiptek videos! Congratulations!
