President Benigno S. Aquino III and his siblings paid tribute to their mother and icon of democracy, former President Corazon C. Aquino, on her second death anniversary.

A mass at the tomb of Cory Aquino and husband, former Senator Benigno S. Aquino, was concelebrated by priests Catalino Arevalo, Manoling Francisco, Jose Qulongquilong, Arnold Abelardo and Manny Domingo. In his homily, Father Arevalo, who served as Cory Aquino's spiritual adviser, prayed that she will guide his son in leading the nation.

In his statement, President Aquino said that he really misses her mother and he keeps on remembering her admonition. He added that he feels gratitude for having remarkable influences in the lives that they have shared together, and just talking to either one or both of his parents produced tremendous comfort to him and his siblings. He also thanked the people who joined them in commemorating her mother's death and for keeping her legacy.

Before the mass, a short program was held. Ninoy and Cory Aquino Foundation President Rafael Lopa and President Aquino's sister, Ballsy Aquino Cruz, received the reports from various People Power groups. These groups were composed of the Dynamic Team Company, PinoyME Foundation, Center for Community Transformations (CCT), SPARKS for Change and The 57-75 Movement. The reports were about the initiatives and efforts of the groups over the past year in order to sustain Cory Aquino's legacy of democratic reform, moral governance and people empowerment.
