When this song won our NF, we were sceptical; send this middle-aged rocker to Eurovision? Are we serious? But then he went out on stage and performed this and WOW! What a performance! He totally nailed it. We weren't expecting to pass through the finals but we still were very proud of him. Vel gert, Eiríkur, þú gerðir okkur stolt!

I wouldn't say angry, just highly suspicious about those countries that got through the final - and I agreed with him. He said to Icelandic viewers, "support the Nordic countries, anyone, don't take part in the Eastern bloc diaspora". Didn't stop us from giving Hungary 8 points but it was a great song.

Its Iceland. We have to do 10x better than some of the bigger countries to get noticed. Sad really. Plus its always politics I think the whole whale hunting hasn't helped in recent years.

Well, no need to cry, we all thought the voting would go as it did! I couldn't understand why the only eastern countries that voted for Iceland were Belarus, Georgia and Montenegro - then I worked it out. They sang next to Iceland's entry and so saw theirs and televoted for Eirikur too. It seems it wa random. Never mind, I am very proud of this achievement for Iceland, which I adore. I wrote the text for this song and thank everyone for very positive comments.
