back in the 70's i was awake at 3am monday morning in my loft in carbon canyon canyon in malibu listening to far away radio stations and they played this song that just knocked me out. afterward they said it's Tom Waits' San Diego Serenade. nex day i went to the record store and got all his albums: closing time, the heart of saturday night, and nighthawks at the diner. all great. what a treat
