This is the first time I've heard a Small Faces song. They've got a great vocal sound. Is that the legendary PP Arnold on backup? I think of her as the secret star of Roger Waters' Amused to Death (1992). Anyway, Steve Marriott, is that the lead singer? He has a great voice. These guys should have been as big as the Rolling Stones. They're certainly just as interesting. And I definitely like the addition of a female voice.

I could listen to this all day, all night and all day again. Quite possibly the greatest rock tune every played and sung by the epitome of British popular culture of that time, magic, pure magic.

The most aggressive lead singer of his day, but what a singer Steve Marriott was!

...and if you think this is good, you should listen to the B-side of the original single release - "I Feel Much Better" - sheer genius!!

Gotta agree with everybody (except for the racist remark about PP Arnold) one of the greatest rock songs ever with one of the greatest intros ever! Also, there used to be a brilliant band here in Sydney in the late 70's early 80's called The Lonely Hearts, they were from Green Valley, a tough working class section of Sydney- anyway they used to do a killer cover version of Tin Soldier.

Yes, that is Steve Marriot on lead vocals.
Two other great ones with Steve on yt are
Small Faces covering Tim Hardin's "If I Were A Carpenter"
and Humble Pie Live "30 Days In The Hole"
I was lucky enough to have been able to experience Steve Marriot at a small club in Silicon Valley back in 1982 with front a front row seat 15 feet from the stage.
So sad that we have to lose such great talent so young.

One of the GREAT Rock Intros. The Small Faces appeared on P.P Arnold's "First Cut Is The Deepest" film clip, so I guess she's returning the complement
