oh, fuck off already. He was talking about the MUSIC, not the lyrics. He even lied about the music part too. Cobain bullshitted that it was a fucking Pixies imitation. when it is clearly based on 'More than a Feeling' by Boston, but Cobain was too 'arty' and cliquey to admit it. He tried to rewrite the lyrics , and that is what you see written in the book Journals. He gave up on trying to rewrite it because it was such a shitty attempt.
