Its funny. You people are seriously detective like when you watch these. Just a random gaijin friend who was getting his visa renewed at the same time. I filmed him originally but he later e-mailed me and asked not to be included. Oh well.

I'm wondering if it's cheaper to get a J-Rail pass or pay for each individual Yamanote ride... You say it was an hour ride to Shinagawa, so that means you live around Ikebukuro, right? That's about hald of the Yamanote circle for 100 bucks... whereas a pass for rides whenever for 2 weeks costs 400 bucks for an adult... maybe it's just cheaper for visitors...

It only costs about 2-3 dollars by JR from Ikebukuro where I live to shinagawa. I only recommend the rail pass if you plan on going to another city like Kyoto, Osaka or Nara. Getting a round Tokyo the rail pass is helpful, but it cant be used on subways which are sometimes more direct.
