  • The motor being installed is relatively small at 7.5 HP. However, that is strong enough to push the dune buggy to about 50 MPH!

  • Sorry, we don't ship outside the USA at this time.

  • So if my in city mileage is 16 miles to the gallon, then my electric motor will only get me up to 16 miles a charge? Ok, I willl save this for a trex trike type of build or a chopper.

  • @grfximage Yes, more or less, that is what I have seen. That's why we have designed and prototyped a three wheeled roadster at Shockwave Motors It give far superior performance in both speed and range!

  • If I want to do this in my 94 Jimmy, could I get some really good power from an electric motor build? Also, my truck is an automatic not sure if that matters.

  • @grfximage While it's technically possible to convert a large truck with an automatic transmission, I'm not sure you would get the range you would need. As a rule of thumb, I've found that you can usually get range equal to the MPG of the vehicle before the conversion. In other words, with a large vehicle that maybe gets 12 MPG that is the range you can expect with a typical lead-acid battery pack.
