Be sure to watch in full screen! I took a trip throughout June 2009 to visit some of the premeire steam railroads in the eastern U. S., including the Western Maryland Scenic R. R. I chased the train on its 16-mile route twice. Here, steam locomotive #734 battles up the steep grade of Helmstetter's Curve, a large horseshoe curve that winds around the Helmstetter family farm.
