My son was taking this video so it was worse than Cloverfield (haha)... Arnel took some time from his hectic schedule to meet and greet my family and friends three days before Journey's big debut in Chile

I doubt he is trying to replace any past lead singers of Journey. The founding members of Journey wanted someone that had the tone and feel that made Journey so huge to begin with. They found just that and more. Arnel is obviously there to honor his mother and follow his own dreams--not for money. He after all was homeless, so he knows what it means to make something out of nothing. He has just been given a obviously rare opportunity who wouldn't take it? He did believe it, no one would.

Neal said that aside from Jonathan Cain’s music writing, Arnel wrote some songs for the new album, “Arnel has got some great ideas. He’s really good with melody and lyrics. We’re going to make a rocking record.”
